Case Study: Medical Device Manufacturer increases smoke evacuation device education and sales with IQVIA MedTech clinical specialists

A IQVIA Case Study

Preview of the Medical Device Manufacturer Case Study

IQVIA MedTech hired a team of registered nurses who provide education about the risks of smoke in the operating room and support sales of a smoke evacuation device

The Medical Device Manufacturer, maker of a smoke evacuation device, needed to increase education and adoption of its product as regulatory pressure grew to make operating rooms smoke-free. Believing peer-to-peer education from OR‑certified registered nurses would be most effective, the company engaged IQVIA MedTech to recruit and deploy clinical specialists who could relate to OR staff, support sales, and deliver credible training.

IQVIA recruited, hired, managed and integrated a team of RN clinical specialists, scaling the pilot from 2 specialists to 10 and realigning coverage to match the customer’s 10 sales regions. IQVIA’s clinical specialists have become valued members of regional teams, are used to train account executives, and drove sustained demand for the service—an ongoing five‑year initiative with 10 clinical specialists covering 10 sales regions and measurable expansion requests from the Medical Device Manufacturer.
