A IQVIA Case Study
Leading Health System Company faced a major data-management challenge after a hospital acquisition: it inherited substantial legacy infrastructure, roughly 20 applications (including a patient-billing app on 1980s hardware), and rapidly growing patient data that needed to be centralized, secured, and kept accessible while retiring costly systems. To meet goals of cost savings and centralized, governance-compliant archiving, the health system engaged IQVIA and its IQVIA Data Archiving as a Managed Service.
IQVIA implemented the managed data-archiving solution to preserve static, structured and semi-structured data with role-based masking and governance controls, provide centralized Release of Information reporting, and take over software installation, maintenance, and support so legacy hardware and applications could be decommissioned. The deployment by IQVIA reduced legal risk, improved data accessibility and security, and delivered about $1M in annual savings, enabling the organization to reallocate budget toward growth.
