Global biopharma implements weekly assessment to drive continual improvement

Global Biopharma Company faced persistent commercial data quality problems after migrating to a new cloud-based master data management (MDM) tool following a major acquisition. The IT-led implementation left business stakeholders with unreliable healthcare professional (HCP) and healthcare organization (HCO) data feeding downstream systems and reports, and the company engaged IQVIA to assess the MDM environment and pinpoint the causes of missing fields, duplicate profiles, and identifier mismatches.

IQVIA’s Analytics, Insight, and Reporting (AIR) team validated initial SQL-based health checks, automated those queries in under four weeks, and built a PowerBI dashboard that surfaces quality metrics and identifies issues such as duplicate NPIs/AMA numbers and missing IMS Prescriber Numbers. As a result of IQVIA’s work, automated weekly health checks now run and refresh the dashboard within 30 minutes, removing hours of manual spreadsheet work and a single-resource dependency, and enabling the company to identify and remediate root causes of data quality issues on an ongoing basis.
