Case Study: Carenity achieves rapid provider search and improved patient access with IQVIA HealthCare Locator SDK

Enabling in-app specialist location and evaluation for digital patient communities

Carenity, the first social network for people with chronic conditions with over 500,000 active members, faced a common patient pain point: helping users quickly find trusted specialists nearby. Rather than build a provider search from scratch, Carenity partnered with IQVIA and implemented the IQVIA HealthCare Locator Software Development Kit (HCL SDK) to add an in‑app specialist locator and evaluation module.

Using IQVIA’s HCL SDK, Carenity launched a customizable provider search across iOS, Android and web—implemented and validated in just 3 weeks—and rolled it out from France to the US, UK, Italy, Spain and Germany. The IQVIA solution connected Carenity to global HCP data, added map-based profiles, specialty and location search, clinical references and scheduling options, accelerated development and maintenance, generated strong user feedback, and set the stage for increased visibility and new user sign-ups.
