IQVIA conducted a retrospective analysis covering seven years (with one‑year look‑back and one‑year look‑forward) using ICD‑10 codes for MDD and anxiety to meet these objectives.

IQVIA’s analysis produced actionable insights: rising prevalence of MDD/anxiety, the highest patient counts in the middle‑age group with nearly equal male/female distribution, and evidence that indirect costs contribute substantially more to the overall economic burden than direct costs. By delivering prevalence/incidence estimates, healthcare resource utilization and cost breakdowns, compliance rates and specialty analyses, IQVIA enabled the client to identify key demographic and economic drivers for targeted planning and resource allocation.
