A Intuiface Case Study
The University of Oregon’s Museum of Natural and Cultural History, working with the Wired Humanities Projects team, needed a way to present fragile Mesoamerican mapas and indigenous pictorial histories to ~12,000 annual visitors without risking the originals. Their existing process—design mockups in InDesign then hand-coding touch interactions—was time-consuming and required specialist IT skills, and the large-format Samsung Tizen display demanded software that could deliver advanced interactivity on a limited budget.
They selected Intuiface for its no-code Composer and ready-made templates, which let museum staff design and test interactive pages themselves; Intuiface support helped optimize performance by simplifying interactions and using smaller video files for the Tizen player. The exhibit went live in March 2018 with 32 content pages, enabling virtual exploration of the mapas, preserving the artifacts, improving visitor engagement, and delivering cost savings and maintainability that the museum plans to use in future exhibits.
