I and love and you (ILY), a Boulder-based premium pet food maker aiming to grow from $20M to $100M, needed a single deep-pocketed investor but faced a logistical challenge: sharing thousands of financial, legal and operational documents with multiple prospective firms would strain its small team and slow the process.

Working with Houlihan Lokey, ILY used an Intralinks virtual data room to securely share 5,000 documents with about 50 users, leverage engagement analytics and control access to sensitive files. The streamlined deal process—courting 10 private equity firms—cut due diligence time to about 2.5 months and resulted in funding from L Catterton, accelerating ILY’s national growth plans without hiring extra staff.
