Three Rivers Legal Services (TRLS) is a nonprofit legal aid organization that helps low-income, abused, disabled and neglected people. TRLS found that homeless clients frequently lose or cannot access vital documents—ID, birth certificates, medical and legal records—preventing them from getting benefits, medical care and housing; staff in the field could not retrieve files from the office system and mailing paper copies was impractical.

TRLS chose Intralinks VIA for secure, compliant, mobile access to client documents, enabling clients to view records on smartphones or at libraries and staff to submit complete applications on the spot. The result: application time frames dropped dramatically (cases that once took years can be resolved in as little as a month), five of 20 users (25%) moved to independent living within six months, thousands of dollars were returned to the local economy, and TRLS plans to scale the program to 100+ clients.
