Formula Hybrid drives creative competition with secure file sharing from Intralinks

Formula Hybrid, developed at Dartmouth College’s Thayer School of Engineering, is an international student competition (running since 2006) that challenges teams to design fuel‑efficient hybrid and electric race cars. As the event grew to hundreds of students from roughly 200 universities and multiple global sponsors, organizers faced a critical need for secure, controlled sharing of rules, design approvals and participant resumes among judges, teams and sponsors.

Formula Hybrid adopted Intralinks to provide secure Workspaces with information rights management, permissioning, version control and Office Online integration. The platform let teams share resumes securely, gave inspectors real‑time, mobile access to Electrical Tech Inspection status and reduced paper tracking—speeding inspections, improving collaboration with sponsors and organizers, and keeping sensitive documents controlled even after download.
