ERYTECH Pharma is a French biopharmaceutical company developing a “tumor starvation” treatment for leukemia and other cancers. Preparing for an IPO in early 2013, the company needed a strategic partner to boost investor confidence and increase capital but faced the logistical and security challenges of negotiating multiple deals and satisfying French documentation requirements.

With KPMG’s help ERYTECH adopted Intralinks Dealspace as a virtual data room, creating customized workstreams for five potential partners, controlling access to sensitive files and tracking document activity. The VDR saved more than four weeks per potential partner by enabling simultaneous negotiations and faster certification of documents; the process led to Recordati‑Orphan Europe taking a 7.8% stake and ERYTECH raising €16.7 million in its April 2013 IPO, exceeding its underwriting target.
