A Intershop Case Study
Wurth, a global leader in fastening and assembly materials with 44,000 sales representatives and €20.4 billion revenue in 2023, needed a single, central platform to map complex company and customer purchasing structures, maintain customer‑specific pricing across channels, and create a network of integrated touchpoints to boost service sales and customer satisfaction. To meet these challenges they partnered with Intershop and its Commerce Platform to unify digital and offline processes.
Intershop implemented one platform powering 43 websites across 37 countries (14 languages, 8 currencies) and integrated omnichannel touchpoints—online shop, app, hand scanner, smart shelves, vending machines and TwinBin—into Wurth’s complex IT landscape. The result: above‑average e‑business growth, online now accounting for 22.4% of sales, comparable average order values to in‑person reps, faster customer repeat rates when channels are combined, and a scalable foundation for future Big Data and expansion—delivered by Intershop.
