Music Store, one of the world’s largest musical-instrument retailers based in Cologne, needed a scalable, centrally managed commerce platform to support rapid international growth, targeted marketing and coupons, and a modern mobile-optimized storefront. To move from a primarily offline/catalog business to a robust multichannel operation, Music Store partnered with Intershop and implemented the Intershop platform, including its promotion engine and responsive storefront capabilities.
Intershop delivered a centralized solution for languages, currencies, shipping methods and tax rates, plus customizable promotions and responsive design; this enabled Music Store to show correct VAT and dynamic prices per market and to deploy targeted sliders and coupons. The result: the online business “took off,” with strong sales growth, reliable handling of peak events like Black Friday without downtime, support for 10 languages and 31 tax rates, and automated price monitoring that checks up to 200,000 prices daily — all driven by the Intershop platform.
