Mister Spex, Germany’s largest online optician, needed to replace its proprietary store solution to support rapid international growth and omnichannel retail. Key challenges included migrating 240,000 products to a new platform, enabling virtual try‑on via webcam or photo upload, and creating a consistent shopping experience across smartphone, PC and brick‑and‑mortar touchpoints. To meet these needs Mister Spex selected the Intershop Commerce Platform.
Intershop implemented its Commerce Platform with Product Information Management and integration to Microsoft Dynamics NAV, delivering centralized product data, responsive web stores, virtual 3D try‑on, personalized promotion pages and POS tablets for in‑store advisors. The migration moved 240,000 products (plus two million customer records and 2.3 million orders), and enabled Mister Spex to offer over 9,000 models, operate 10+ national stores with ~60,000 daily visitors, expand into 11 countries and 40+ retail outlets, and lift conversion rates and purchases per visitor through live A/B testing and customized landing pages — all powered by Intershop.
