BookSpot, a Dutch online bookstore (part of the Audax Group with €211 million turnover in 2019), needed to strengthen and grow its digital sales channels while integrating e‑commerce across consumer sites, own stores, franchisees and distributors. The retailer aimed to deliver a 360° customer experience by combining online and offline data, improving mobile UX and lifting conversion — and chose the Intershop Commerce Platform to support that multi-channel, data-driven strategy.
Intershop migrated BookSpot to the latest Intershop Commerce Platform, implemented a new PIM and a headless, API-based architecture that enabled fast rollout of webshops (bookspot.nl, bookspot.be) and easy addition of channels like Bruna, while integrating SAP, CRM and BI systems for advanced personalization. The result: mobile conversion nearly doubled (100% increase) within a year, mobile traffic matches or exceeds desktop, and BookSpot now runs scalable, centrally managed commerce for Audax brands with improved up‑ and cross‑selling potential thanks to Intershop.
