Case Study: San Jose Earthquakes achieve remote operations and virtual fan engagement with Intermedia AnyMeeting

A Intermedia Case Study

Preview of the San Jose Earthquakes Case Study

San Jose Earthquakes Leverage Video Conferencing Technology to Connect Team Members, Staff, and Fans

The San Jose Earthquakes, an original MLS team based in Silicon Valley, faced the abrupt halt of the 2020 season when COVID‑19 forced staff and players to go remote and canceled in‑person fan events. The club needed to maintain internal communication, support players isolated in a league “bubble,” and preserve the deep fan engagement that is core to their brand.

Using Intermedia’s AnyMeeting video conferencing, the Quakes held daily staff check‑ins, moved their signature “Devotion Days” to about 20 virtual small‑group fan sessions, and recorded family messages for players in the MLS bubble. The result was sustained productivity, continued fan connection and memorable experiences for season ticket holders, all while prioritizing safety and enabling the team’s participation in the league’s Orlando tournament.
