AAPC leverages the cloud for secure file sharing, mobility and backup with SecuriSync® by Intermedia

AAPC, the largest training and credentialing organization for the healthcare industry with over 155,000 members, needed to modernize its file management while protecting PHI and meeting HIPAA requirements. CTO Brian Shellabarger sought cloud-based PC backup, secure external file sharing with auditing, mobile access to replace Windows file servers, remote wipe for lost devices, and the ability to quickly roll back files after ransomware or malware events.

After piloting SecuriSync by Intermedia and executing a Business Associate Agreement, AAPC rolled out SecuriSync in phases—starting with PC backup, then secure sharing and collaboration, and finally mobile access. The solution centralized backups, replaced insecure consumer services, provided audit logs, remote wipe and version-restore capabilities, and delivered better compliance, usability and simplified IT support.
