Creates 24/7 Virtual Environment to Reach Global Audiences with Leadership Development

Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) is a nonprofit focused on leadership development for women in the healthcare industry, serving over 20,000 members through 15 chapters in the U.S. and Europe. HBA could not open chapters fast enough to reach global employees of companies like Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, and wanted a way to extend learning and networking beyond one-off live events to provide ongoing, accessible development.

HBA partnered with InterCall to create Leadership Online, a virtual environment featuring live webcasts, text chats, confidential coaching, teleconferences, resource “rooms” and blogs. Its first program, the three-month Leadership in Practice, combined interactive webcasts, chats and modules and drove strong engagement (80% webcast attendance, 54-minute average duration; final teleconference with 120 audio attendees plus 45 online). Results exceeded expectations: HBA added 26 new members (vs. a target of 10), reached ~300 participants—75% at senior levels—and participants reported the program met or exceeded expectations and wanted more.
