The American Payroll Association (APA) faced shrinking travel and training budgets among members but still needed to deliver its annual conference education. To maintain access to up-to-date payroll training, APA partnered with InterCall to run a virtual conference alongside its in-person event so geographically dispersed members could participate without traveling.

After six months of planning, APA launched a fully interactive two-day virtual event with expert-led sessions, downloadable materials, peer networking, live Q&A and on-demand access. The program attracted 1,885 virtual attendees (126% of target), who spent an average of over five hours online, downloaded 8,263 resources, reported high satisfaction and earned recertification credits, prompting plans for future virtual events.
