Starcom UK needed to improve Facebook viewability for a major global financial advertiser to justify increased media spend, but industry viewability standards don’t account for different social environments. To address this, Starcom partnered with Integral Ad Science (IAS) and used IAS’s Facebook measurement and reporting to understand how social placements, objectives and buy types affected viewability.
Using IAS data and dynamic Facebook reporting, Starcom ran tests across campaign objectives, optimization methods, buy types and placements and adjusted its media buying strategy based on granular IAS insights. Integral Ad Science’s solution helped drive a measurable uplift — a reported 24% increase in Facebook viewability and a year‑over‑year viewability level of 57.5% (up from 56%).
