Dermatology LTD Increases Online Payments by 7x in Three Months With InstaMed

Dermatology LTD, an independent, physician-owned dermatology practice with two locations and 10 physicians, needed a more efficient way to collect patient payments, reduce billing costs, and eliminate time-consuming manual processing of mailed checks and paper statements. To address these challenges, Dermatology LTD partnered with InstaMed and implemented the InstaMed Patient Engagement Program.

InstaMed worked with the practice to redesign patient statements (removing tear slips and return envelopes), promote the InstaMed Patient Portal through clear messaging, on-hold prompts and website instructions, and offer patient-friendly online options like a secure digital wallet, payment plans and eStatements. As a result of InstaMed’s program, 83% of patient payments are now self-service, online payments increased 7x, eStatement enrollment grew 4x, and mailed payments and staff processing time were significantly reduced.
