Idus is South Korea’s largest mobile marketplace for handmade goods, used by more than 19,000 artists. Facing the need to produce ad creative more efficiently and drive app installs while improving cost-per-install, idus tested a new approach to its app-install campaigns on Instagram.
The company ran branded content ads comparing its own sellers acting as influencers with professional influencers, giving creators guidance but creative freedom and optimizing formats for mobile, placements, and budget. Ads featuring sellers outperformed professional influencers, delivering a 23% increase in app installs, a 19% decrease in cost per install, and a 32% decrease in cost per completed registration.
