The Golden State Warriors, a storied NBA franchise, needed to deepen fan engagement and turn supporters into buyers of official merchandise and game tickets. Their goal was to boost merchandise sales and fill more seats by reaching fans where they spend time online.
They ran strategically targeted Instagram ad campaigns during the 2015–16 season to promote official Warriors apparel. The ads not only drove merchandise purchases but also ticket sales, delivering a 13.7x return on ad spend in June 2016, a 14.8x ROAS across the season, and a 6.3x increase in Instagram followers.
