IBM needed to build a scalable, highly available, globally distributed IoT and consumer management platform for a Fortune 500 customer, while meeting strict data segregation, GDPR, low-latency search, cloud-agnostic, and rapid-scale requirements. IBM engaged Instaclustr for consulting services and the Instaclustr Managed Platform to help architect the solution around open-source technologies.

Instaclustr helped IBM design and tune an AWS-based platform centered on Apache Cassandra, Apache Spark, and the Cassandra Lucene Index plugin, with data locality controls, multi-data-center replication, and integrated monitoring via Datadog. The solution passed IBM and customer audits for SOC 2 and GDPR compliance, improved operational visibility, and was ultimately deployed for both performance and production environments, reducing management complexity and de-risking ongoing cluster operations.
