General Nutrition Centre (GNC), a leading retailer of health and wellness products, needed a quick way to clear surplus stock by drawing maximum attention to a discounted product promotion on its website. They partnered with the vendor, Insider, and its digital experience platform to find an innovative solution for this challenge.
Insider's solution was to repurpose the homepage search bar by auto-filling it with a promotional message for the discounted item. Clicking the search button took users directly to the product page. This simple yet highly visible integration into the user journey resulted in a 41.48% increase in average order value and a 6.16% uplift in conversion rate for GNC during the promotion.
