Makro uplifts average order value by 25% with web push

Makro, a South African retail chain with 22 stores, wanted to improve its online shopping experience and address low average order value. The company also needed a solution that was easy to implement without heavy IT involvement, and it chose Insider to help personalize content across its ecommerce site.

Insider implemented cart-page recommendations based on users’ purchasing preferences, along with product-page “viewed together” recommendations. Makro reported a 17% uplift in AOV, a 25% uplift in CR on the cart page, and an overall 15% uplift in CR, with a 60% CR uplift among users who clicked on the recommendations.
