DeFacto drives 8X higher conversion rate with behavioral app push notifications

DeFacto, a fashion retail company with more than 500 stores in 30 countries, needed a better way to activate new app users within 30 days of installation and improve mobile app retention. It worked with Insider and used mobile app push notifications to support onboarding and engagement across the purchase journey.

Using Insider’s behavioral and time-based push notifications, DeFacto sent welcome messages, discount follow-ups, product reminders, cart reminders, and post-purchase updates based on user actions. The result was 7.5% of new users activated through onboarding campaigns, 6X higher open rates, and 8X higher conversions versus bulk push notifications, with cart reminder push notifications driving a 4.75% conversion rate compared with 0.22% for generic push notifications.
