Preview of the Cabify Case Study

Cabify Combatting artificial inflation of traffic and enhancing CX with innovative fraud and security solutions

Cabify, the multi-mobility company operating in more than 40 cities, relied on SMS for OTP verification and ride updates but faced rising challenges from artificial inflation of traffic (AIT) that was hurting security, user experience, and efficiency. To tackle this, Cabify turned to Infobip and its AI/machine-learning fraud detection solution, Infobip Signals, along with authentication via SMS and WhatsApp.

Infobip implemented Signals to automatically detect and block fraudulent traffic in real time, while Cabify also used WhatsApp as the primary OTP channel with SMS as a fallback to improve delivery and reduce friction. The results included a 15.7% reduction in financial loss from AIT in one quarter, higher operational efficiency, improved OTP delivery rates, and a setup time of less than 10 minutes for Signals.
