Rapid7, a security data and analytics provider, faced a challenge: many enterprise customers were restricted from publicly discussing their security programs, limiting traditional case-study storytelling. To surface authentic customer voices about new solutions and features, Rapid7 launched VoiceUp, an online advocate community designed to expand how customers could advocate for the brand beyond formal case studies.

Through VoiceUp Rapid7 educated and incentivized advocates to create testimonials, blogs, videos and participate in webcasts, using transparent requests, a points-for-rewards system, and targeted campaigns to generate content and sales collateral. The program produced five advocate-produced videos used by sales and demand gen, increased webcast panelists by 50% (16 volunteers plus 17 sourced for future panels), delivered 10 new case studies (35% of their total), and boosted engagement with enterprise customers who couldn’t appear in traditional case studies.
