How BlackLine Repurposed an Advocate Community for a Virtual Event Using Influitive

BlackLine, a SaaS accounting solution provider, faced the challenge of turning its annual BeyondTheBlack customer event into an engaging virtual experience during COVID-19 while keeping its advocate community active. To do that, BlackLine used Influitive and its BlackLine Champion Rewards advocacy platform to support customer engagement, event promotion, and ongoing community participation.

With help from Influitive, BlackLine temporarily rebranded its advocate community into a virtual Customer Connect booth, added 50 event-focused challenges, surveys, and rewards, and tied attendees into educational resources and feedback channels. The results were strong: BlackLine gained hundreds of new advocates, kept 89% of participants active afterward, completed 4,145 challenges and 4,220 advocacy acts, generated 56 reviews, secured 22 reference-call volunteers, and collected 1,173 Design Lab challenge completions.
