Blackbaud, a leading provider of nonprofit software, wanted to expand its customer advocacy beyond a limited LinkedIn group without overwhelming advocates. Michael Beahm, Customer Advocate Marketing Manager, needed a way to engage customers across channels to drive referrals, press participation, social sharing and conference promotion while keeping the program personal.
Using Influitive and support from an Advocacy Coach, Blackbaud launched the Blackbaud Champions program in three weeks. In the first 10 days it engaged 150 advocates, generated 77 high-value referrals, drove completion of 2,200 challenges (including 500 surveys and 25 third‑party reviews) and up to 1,500 social shares—ultimately exceeding pipeline targets by 30% and closing a deal to cover the program cost.
