Wiley, the global education publisher, launched a new version of its flagship learning platform WileyPLUS but quickly ran into functionality and UX problems. Rather than paying a UX firm to recruit users for testing, Wiley sought a faster, more cost-effective way to get broad, actionable customer feedback.
WileyPLUS Studio created a Product Advisory Community (PAC), targeting users who experienced issues and onboarding members with surveys, structured feedback workflows, and coordination between UX, product, sales, and customer success. The PAC grew from 25 consulted customers to 400+ participants, saved 400 hours of recruitment (about $60K), drove 10x year-over-year usage growth, and contributed an estimated $7 million in revenue for the new WileyPLUS release.
