Case Study: Swisscom achieves automated, privacy-compliant photo organization in myCloud with Imagga

A Imagga Case Study

Preview of the Swisscom Case Study

Enhancing Swisscom myCloud with automated image organization

Swisscom AG, the Swiss telecommunications provider behind the myCloud personal cloud service, needed a way to handle huge volumes of user photos and let customers browse and search their personal collections by visual topics while meeting strict Swiss privacy and security rules. After evaluating multiple vendors, Swisscom selected Imagga and its image-recognition API—including an on‑premise deployment option—that met both the state-of-the-art technology requirement and the need to run inside Swisscom’s data centers.

Imagga’s solution was piloted with the cloud API and integrated within hours, and the on‑premise API was set up in Swisscom’s secure data center in less than two days; the image-recognition and personal-photo categorization features automatically organize photos by subject and location, improving search and browsing for users. Imagga’s API proved stable and accurate (recognizing objects and broader scenic categories), and the vendor’s prompt support helped Swisscom deliver a better, privacy-compliant visual experience for myCloud customers.
