The Student Loans Company (SLC) is a UK public-sector organisation managing loans, repayments and services for millions of students and partner institutions. After significant growth its IT environment suffered from an outdated, duplicated and inconsistent asset database and an old ITSM version, which undermined visibility, SLA performance and user confidence. SLC addressed these challenges using IFS assyst.

IFS assyst worked with SLC to rebuild and cleanse its CMDB, upgrade to the latest assyst release (including Lotus Notes Identifier), and deploy Smart Mail plus enhanced reporting, supported by starter licences and consultant reviews. The result is a clean, audited asset database of more than 6,000 assets and 1,500 contact users, faster asset lookups, improved SLA tracking and automated communications, freed staff time and stronger user adoption and customer service thanks to IFS assyst.
