Sheffield City Council Using intuitive technology from Idox to capture the student voice

Sheffield City Council worked with Idox to tackle the challenge of achieving accurate, complete electoral registers, particularly for a large and transient student population across the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam. Following the introduction of Individual Electoral Registration, the Council faced a costly and time-consuming process of chasing students to register.

Idox implemented an automated electoral management solution using its data mining module and secure EMS, integrating student registration data collected through university enrolment forms. This streamlined registration and register maintenance, helped the Council reduce printing, postage, canvassing and processing costs, and achieved a response rate of around 66% of eligible students.
