Scentsy, an Idaho-based maker of candle warmers and scented products founded in 2003, sells through a large direct-sales consultant network of roughly 120,000 people. To tap into the insights of consultants closest to customers and surface new product and program ideas, Scentsy needed a scalable way to engage its global consultant community.
Scentsy launched the Scentsy Family IdeaShare on IdeaScale and promoted it across consultant communications, the company system, social media, and at its national convention. The community grew to about 153,000 users with over 9,000 ideas, 600,000 votes and 17,000 comments, producing the Mason Jar warmer (Scentsy’s top-selling warmer), 86 implemented products and many more in production — demonstrating that celebrating contributions, integrating innovation tools, and acting on consultant ideas can drive major revenue impact.
