QED Rapidly Prototyping New Digital Ideas

QED is an international consulting firm that helps clients improve development project design, implementation, and adaptive management through data, tools, and services. In 2016 QED launched an IdeaScale community to source technology-based ideas that would increase access to, understanding of, and utility for its data and information offerings—seeking feasible, cost-effective innovations that address client needs and close feedback gaps in evaluations.

Employees submitted ideas and QED selected three for rapid digital prototyping with TopCoder; the standout was SHARE, an interactive platform designed to close the feedback loop by letting evaluation participants engage with findings and recommendations. Prototypes were judged on popularity, cost, feasibility, desirability, impact, and strategic alignment; TopCoder delivered an initial working version and SHARE was advanced for development to better serve QED’s clients worldwide and improve engagement with evaluation results.
