A IdeaScale Case Study
KANE Is Able (KANE) is a leading third‑party logistics provider for consumer packaged goods in the U.S. Wanting to capture frontline ideas and drive continuous improvement, KANE set 2012 goals of one idea for every two associates and a minimum 1% cost savings or revenue growth from employee ideas. They needed a single, accessible, secure idea‑management system to collect, track and act on suggestions from a dispersed workforce.
KANE adopted IdeaScale and embedded it into onboarding and their Lean/Six Sigma program, supported by a four‑person Continuous Improvement team and 70 idea champions overseeing ideas from 1,100+ employees. Within two months they hit their goals and, over time, implemented numerous suggestions—changes like fuel additives, locked‑in heating rates, vendor switches and safety tracking—delivering more than $3 million in company‑wide savings, higher engagement, and a clear competitive differentiator.
