A IdeaScale Case Study
Georgetown University, a leading research institution in Washington, D.C., sought to increase student engagement and broaden conversations that began with in-person Hoya Roundtables. Leadership wanted a more accessible way for a larger portion of the campus to contribute ideas and help improve university life.
They launched an IdeaScale virtual community open to anyone with a university email and promoted it through student government, email and Roundtable mentions. In its first year the community attracted more than 3,000 members, produced hundreds of ideas and over 26,000 votes, led to cost-saving changes like online course evaluations, accelerated initiatives such as on-campus Zipcar rentals, enabled faster staff response to issues, and resulted in multiple implemented improvements (food trucks, Blackboard updates, etc.).
