Accelerating Careers and Solutions with The Xcellerate Competition

Xaxis is the world’s largest programmatic media agency, serving 3,000+ brands across 47 markets (clients include Ford, IKEA and Mars). Facing no global way to surface and scale ideas from its dispersed teams, Xaxis launched the Xcellerate program in 2017 using IdeaScale to create a company-wide innovation competition and idea pipeline.

Xcellerate runs open submissions, company voting, regional judging, an 8–12 week incubation with mentors and coaching, and executive-funded MVP pitches. The program has produced new offerings—like social UGC amplification, DOOH-to-store-visit attribution, and an ad-bidding algorithm now integrated into their AI stack—while boosting employee engagement, accelerating careers, and driving year-over-year gains in idea quality and participation.
