X-Ray Medical Imaging achieves ISAS accreditation with Q-Pulse at Royal Devon and Exeter

The X‑Ray Medical Imaging department at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust needed to achieve Imaging Services Accreditation Scheme (ISAS) status to demonstrate the safety and quality of its services, but was hampered by fragmented SOPs, poor knowledge management and a heavy audit workload (multiple audits per month) alongside regulatory requirements such as IR(ME)R.

The department extended the Trust’s existing Q‑Pulse system to centralise controlled documentation, track training and competence, manage audits and raise non‑conformities. This enabled quicker SOP access, stronger governance and smoother inspections, helped secure ISAS accreditation, impressed regulators during CQC visits, and supported plans to expand Q‑Pulse use for equipment and clinical trial management.
