A Ideagen Case Study
The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust’s X‑Ray Medical Imaging department set out to achieve ISAS accreditation—the gold standard for imaging services—but faced weak document and knowledge management, time‑consuming SOP distribution, and a heavy audit burden while needing to demonstrate staff competence and regulatory compliance (including IR(ME)R). With ISAS potentially becoming mandatory, the team needed a reliable system to ensure continuity, controlled documentation and robust audit management.
The department extended the Trust’s existing Q‑Pulse system to centralise SOPs, track training and competency, manage audits and non‑conformities, and supply evidence to the ISAS portal. As a result they achieved ISAS accreditation, strengthened compliance (notably impressing CQC inspectors), improved staff access to and acknowledgement of controlled documents, streamlined audits, and are now expanding Q‑Pulse use into clinical trials and equipment management.
