NHS Grampian achieve department-wide quality management consistency with Q-Pulse Enterprise

NHS Grampian, the regional health board serving over 500,000 people in northeast Scotland, faced inconsistent quality-management practices across multiple departments (Labs, Civil Contingencies, Pharmacy, Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy). Some departments were new to Q‑Pulse, others used it differently, and paper-based/version-control processes created inefficiencies and patient-safety risks — prompting a need for a coordinated, common structure.

By implementing Q‑Pulse Enterprise with multiple department databases on one server, NHS Grampian standardized document/version control, corrective actions, supplier and asset tracking, and training records. The unified system now manages 1,000+ process documents, tracks 900 assets, maintains electronic records for 170+ staff across 25 sites, records 100+ audits, and supported ISO 15189/CPA accreditation — delivering improved approvals, clearer workflows and consistent, department-wide quality and safety management.
