L.S. Starrett Company, a US-based precision tool manufacturer with about 2,000 employees and multiple global sites, needed a better way to manage its European operation’s document control. Their Jedburgh, Scotland site faced a labour‑intensive QMS with over 1,200 documents, frequent duplication and retyping of revisions, and no reliable history or central repository for records.

Starrett implemented Ideagen’s Q‑Pulse as a central electronic QMS, enabling Microsoft Office document storage, automated prompts for reviews, and modules for corrective actions, supplier reviews and calibration assets. The rollout delivered significant time savings, greater visibility and control of documents, improved ISO 9001 compliance (noted by BSI assessors) and was expanded across the business.
