GCAA become the first regulator to use iPad for audits

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), regulator of a rapidly growing UAE aviation market responsible for oversight of more than 565 organisations, needed to improve efficiency and traceability in its audit process. Auditors were completing paper checklists on site and then re-entering data into an electronic system, creating duplication, delays and limited real-time visibility.

Working with Ideagen, the GCAA extended the Q-Pulse audit platform to the iPad so auditors could complete checklists, attach photos and raise findings at the point of identification, then upload results directly into the e-audit system to trigger workflows. The mobile solution made the GCAA the first regulator to use iPads for audits, eliminated data re-entry, improved accuracy and close-out collaboration, and enabled more audits with the same staff—contributing to better oversight and safer skies.
