East Riding Council improves usability with Ideagen Easysite

East Riding Council, the local authority serving over 338,000 residents in the East Riding of Yorkshire, needed to overhaul its website to improve usability, ensure consistent information, and reduce customer calls and office visits. After a 2011 review of web management practices and an in-depth demonstration, the council selected Ideagen Easysite to deliver a mobile-first, customer-focused redesign.

Using Easysite, the council rebuilt its site, integrated its CRM via APIs to create the MyEastRiding personalised portal, and linked ESRI GIS mapping so users can find services by postcode. The centralised, real-time content management approach made tasks easier for citizens, cut administration time, freed frontline staff, and helped the council achieve repeated four-star Socitm ratings and sustained top-tier status among UK council websites.
