A Ideagen Case Study
Blackpool Teaching Hospitals’ Pharmacy Aseptic Unit, part of Blackpool Victoria Hospital, faced rising difficulty managing large volumes of paper-based documentation for its aseptic preparation services (notably oncology and haematology chemotherapy). The team struggled with outdated standard operating procedures, uncontrolled worksheet masters, no record of who had read current SOPs, and paper error reports that couldn’t be trended or analysed.
The Trust implemented Ideagen’s Q-Pulse electronic quality management system, using its document module to centralise creation, revision, archiving and automated reminders for all SOPs, worksheets, labels, forms and training materials. This delivered complete document control, resolved version-control and master-copy errors, sped up review and change-control processes, and made reporting and document tracking far more efficient.
