Blackpool Teaching Hospitals’ Pharmacy Aseptic Unit now has complete Document Control with Q-Pulse

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals’ Pharmacy Aseptic Unit, which prepares specialist medicines including cancer chemotherapy, was struggling with multiple paper-based systems. Routine tasks—managing SOPs, worksheets, labels and error reports—were time-consuming and error-prone: many SOPs were out of date, there was no record of who had read the latest revisions, master worksheets were duplicated by photocopying, and paper error reports offered no trend analysis.

The unit implemented Ideagen’s Q-Pulse document module as part of an electronic QMS, uploading all documentation and using electronic workflows, version control and automated reminders. This centralized creation, revision and archiving of SOPs, worksheets, labels, forms and training records, dramatically cut review times, solved label/version issues, improved change control and delivered complete document control.
