Case Study: Lufthansa Cargo achieves faster time-to-market and higher-quality airfreight booking platform with IBS Software

A IBS Software Case Study

Preview of the Lufthansa Cargo Case Study

Strategic quality consulting to build a modern airfreight sales booking platform at Lufthansa Cargo

Lufthansa Cargo, a leading European airfreight carrier handling over 1.5 million tons of cargo to 300+ destinations, needed to migrate a legacy booking system to a modern, cloud-based airfreight sales booking platform with new front-end designs to boost digital sales and cut time to market. Facing a complex multi-vendor, multi-scrum environment and strict performance and integration requirements, they engaged IBS Software for end-to-end quality consulting and software quality management for the new booking platform.

IBS Software defined and implemented an enterprise quality strategy aligned with agile delivery, providing test environment setup, configuration/test-data management, defect and release management, model-based testing, risk-based and regression automation, and an early quality gate to catch defects inside sprints. As a result, IBS Software enabled earlier defect detection, shorter testing cycles and reduced testing costs through a hybrid on-site/offshore model, raised overall product quality (the “eBooking” release was widely regarded as high quality), and supported Lufthansa Cargo’s push to grow digital sales toward its target of a 30% revenue increase by 2025.
