Case Study: Korean Air Cargo achieves rapid digital transformation and integrated cargo operations with IBS Software's iCargo

A IBS Software Case Study

Preview of the Korean Air Cargo Case Study

Helping Korean Air Cargo go digital with iCargo

Korean Air Cargo, the specialized airfreight division of Korean Air and one of the top five global cargo carriers, faced a legacy IT landscape of a mainframe plus 35 satellite systems that was hindering new business models, automation and revenue growth. To modernize operations, reduce maintenance costs and support e‑Freight, piece‑level tracking and digital partner collaboration, Korean Air Cargo selected IBS Software and its iCargo cargo management suite to drive a full digital transformation.

IBS Software deployed the iCargo full-suite to replace the 35 independent systems with a single integrated, GUI-based platform (hosted in IBS’s Japan data center with AWS DR), completing the implementation in 18 months and going live on 1 April 2019. The iCargo rollout delivered consolidated end-to-end processes, O&D-based revenue management for higher shipment yield, real‑time booking profitability and billing (improving cash flow), greater automation and fewer errors, faster product/upsell launches, and 24x7 accessibility—tangible benefits from the IBS Software iCargo implementation that modernized Korean Air Cargo’s operations.
