Case Study: American Airlines Cargo achieves a single integrated digital cargo platform with IBS Software iCargo

A IBS Software Case Study

Preview of the American Airlines Cargo Case Study

American Airlines Cargo with IBS iCargo Implementation

American Airlines Cargo, one of the world’s largest air cargo networks serving 365+ destinations with over 8,000 staff and 30,000+ customers, was hampered by a fragmented IT landscape of 90+ point‑to‑point systems that made changes costly, slow and error‑prone. To modernize operations and “make it easy for the customer,” American Airlines Cargo engaged IBS Software and its iCargo solution to replace the legacy maze and support a digital transformation.

IBS Software implemented the iCargo full suite as a single end‑to‑end platform—consolidating 91 independent systems into one integrated solution—via a phased program office approach and a successful final module go‑live in August 2020. The iCargo deployment delivered modern GUI screens, real‑time booking and shipment visibility, automated paper processes and rules‑driven workflows, reducing operational costs and revenue leakage, improving customer self‑service and partner collaboration, and supporting 8,000+ users and 30,000+ customers worldwide.
